The EW-7288APC 11AC Wi-Fi Range Extender expands the range of standard 802.11ac Wi-Fi network by repeating the 5Ghz signal from a Wi-Fi router and transmitting it to Wi-Fi Dead-zone location. It is the first 5Ghz only Range Extender with additional bridge mode that ensure the best 5GHz Wi-Fi coverage.
Power up your EW-7288APC. And then Use the slide switch on the base of the EW-7288APC to select Wi-Fi bridge mode.
Use a Wi-Fi device (e.g. computer, tablet, smartphone) to search for a Wi-Fi network with the SSID "Edimax**-5GHz" and connect to it. Wi-Fi password is displayed on the label on the underside of the EW-7288APC.
Open a web browser and if you do not automatically arrive at the “Get Started” screen shown below, enter the URL http://edimax**.setup (or http://192.168.9.2). And then Click "Get Started" on your screen.
The extender needs to receive a good Wi-Fi Signal in order to repeat the Wi-Fi signal and provide Wi-Fi coverage for your dead zone. The best location for your extendr is roughly in the middle between your existing wireless router and the dead zone. It is recommended that your extender can receive at least 60% signal strength from your existing Wi-Fi Router.
